Thought I’d share this with y’all while I’m on an emotional kick [those that know me know I’m basically emotional about anything that lay in front of me ..happy, laughing, crying, whatevs. Girl got feelings, mkay?]
This is my absolute favorite nursing video of all time. It shows all the emotions experienced in the life transition of nursing school.. happiness, excitement, inquiry, dedication, overwhelmingness, confusion, exhaustion, frustration, despair, hopelessness, optimism, hopefulness, confidence, pride, accomplishment, and most of all love. Love for yourself and love for others. Because after all, that’s what nursing is. A love for others.
A colleague of mine posted this video to our school cohort’s Facebook group during second semester, which by the way was the hardest semester of the entire program… Med-surg, pharm, mental health, community health, applied statistics, medical spanish II, plus 12 hour clinicals, and not to mention all squished into a short summer semester. Needless to say I was on the brink of breaking at any moment. I must have watched this video a good 20 times in a row balling at 4 AM wondering how I was ever going to get through.
And here I am, on the other side.. and all I have to say to all for those still in school is you will make it. It is tough and it will test your dedication, but it is the most rewarding and life changing experience. Nothing touches your heart like knowing you have impacted another person’s life for the better. You can do it. We are the future of nursing.

Nurse With a Smile :]
This video made me tear up. It’s awesome. So glad to be graduated from nursing school, but there were more than just textbook lessons I will never forget. Just. Keep. Going.
